Resume

Thiago Alberionne

Protheus, ADVPL and Oracle for more than twenty years. IT management at an auto parts distributor and development of an ERP of my own.

Summary

I have run IT at Grupo VP Distribuidora since 2005: the Protheus ERP on Oracle, servers, network and security of an auto parts distributor with several companies and branches. I have programmed in ADVPL since the rollout, in the invoicing, inventory, finance, purchasing, tax, accounting and auto parts modules. Before Protheus, I took the group off Cobol onto a single Solaris server; since then, I have carried the operation through Oracle, server and version migrations without stopping invoicing.

In recent years I built an ERP of my own, Torque, which runs alongside Protheus and is fed by it every day, publishes and identifies listings on Mercado Livre and takes customer orders through a B2B portal. I started in the warehouse and in accounts receivable, which is why I understand the process before writing the routine.

The long version, with context and history, is on the Journey page.

Experience

  1. Head of information technology

    since 2005

Grupo VP Distribuidora — auto parts distribution, several companies and branches

I am responsible for the IT of the group: the Protheus ERP (12.1.2410) on Oracle, servers, network, backup, security, support and training. A lean team, me on the systems and a partner in the field. Invoicing, inventory, finance and tax for every company run on the same ERP: if it stops, the operation stops.

    • ADVPL every day: entry points and triggers on standard routines, custom registrations and processes in MVC, TReport reports and SQL queries, REST and SOAP web services, scheduled jobs, SX2/SX3 dictionary
    • Modules: Invoicing and NF-e (SIGAFAT), Inventory and Costs (SIGAEST), Finance (SIGAFIN), Purchasing (SIGACOM), Tax (SIGAFIS), Accounting (SIGACTB) and Auto Parts (SIGAPEC)
    • Scale: around 200 thousand products, 270 thousand product × vehicle applications, 84 thousand outbound and 33 thousand inbound invoices in the last twelve months, six companies in the same database
    • Migration from Cobol to Protheus when the electronic invoice arrived, without stopping invoicing. Before that, unified the systems of every company in the group on a single Sun server running Solaris
    • Stewardship ever since: Oracle, server and Protheus version migrations; model 55 electronic invoices issued by Protheus, handling tax authority rejections and the Brazilian tax reform
    • Brought in house what used to depend on third parties: today Protheus itself feeds Torque, the ERP I built (below), every day
  2. Creator and developer

    in production since Aug 2026

Torque — ERP for auto parts distribution

An ERP built from scratch for the group’s operation, running alongside Protheus and fed by it. Java 21, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Angular, Docker. In production with a pilot distributor since August 2026.

    • Base migrated from Protheus: 207 thousand products, 272 thousand product × vehicle applications, 68 thousand people, 7 thousand suppliers, stock across three warehouses
    • Protheus → Torque synchronization: a Python extractor over Oracle, daily idempotent load of registrations, prices, stock (SB2), applications (SZ3) and inbound and outbound invoices (SF1/SD1, SF2/SD2). A mirror of 60 thousand stock lines across five companies
    • Sales counter with search by vehicle, model 55 electronic invoice with its own DANFE, barcode picking and checking, transfers between warehouses, workshop and service orders, finance
    • B2B portal: the customer places the order (37 manufacturers, 18.9 thousand products), it lands on the counter and becomes a quote inside Protheus
    • Mercado Livre marketplace: a mirror of the account’s 25.8 thousand listings, automatic identification of 45% of them against the catalog, publishing through the API, a title generator with vehicle compatibility and a forbidden-words dictionary
  3. Creator and developer

FastBar — management for bars and restaurants

Runs end to end the cultural venue I help run, from the order at the table to the tax receipt. Same code base as Torque: 350 thousand lines of Java, 120 thousand of TypeScript, 350 database migrations, 4.3 thousand automated tests.

    • Consumer electronic invoice (model 65) with an in-house issuer, no intermediary, authorized in production since July 2026
    • Multi-company with row-level security in PostgreSQL; a local-first architecture recorded in ADRs, with the local database as the authority and the SaaS as back office
    • Payroll paid by PIX through the Banco Inter API, automatic bank reconciliation, integration with the card acquirer (Mercado Pago)
    • An AI agent on WhatsApp for the team: operational commands and reading of payment receipts with computer vision
  4. Co-founder and manager

    Tropicália Mutante

A cultural venue in the historic center of João Pessoa. Financial and operational management, pricing and the cultural program. It is where FastBar runs and where product decisions are born.

  5. Co-founder

    Folk Chic

A womenswear brand. I am responsible for management, technology and the online store.

  6. Developer

    2003–2005

    VM Set Sistemas

Delphi 7 on Oracle. This is where I started with the Oracle I still use today.

  7. From the warehouse to IT

    1996–2003

Auto Anhanguera (later Bom Preço Auto Peças) — auto parts

I joined as a stock clerk, became head of the warehouse and then moved to finance, in accounts receivable, before going to IT, where I programmed in Cobol (2000–2003). Four years of operations before the first line of code.

How I work today

Torque and FastBar are maintained by me with a network of AI agents (Claude Code), one per area: bar, auto parts, B2B portal, Mercado Livre, infrastructure, validation. Every request goes into an auditable ledger; every delivery with a screen or a database migration goes through staging, a canary environment with a copy of the real database and screenshot validation before going live. Dangerous commands are blocked by hooks. That is how one person sustains an ERP of this size without stopping the operation.
