Journey
I work in technology management in a critical corporate environment and, from the other side of the table, run businesses of my own that live on daily operations. That double position is what defines me: I design the system and I also serve the people who use it.
I am a generalist by choice. I move between servers, databases, ERP, code and the results of the month because almost every problem that reaches me lives exactly in the seams between them.
I have worked since I was nine; at fourteen, in 1996, came my first formally registered job — stock clerk at an auto parts store. I came to technology through operations: inventory and accounts receivable before my first program. I started in 2000 writing Cobol, later on a Solaris server, and today I put AI agents to work in production: three eras of computing, the same restlessness.

IT management in a critical environment
Planning, priorities and project delivery where stopping is not an option. Availability, security and continuity come before any novelty.
ERP and business processes
Administration, configuration and customization of the Protheus ERP: ADVPL routines, entry points, reports and integrations across sales, finance, tax, inventory and invoicing. Before writing the routine, understand the business process it carries.
Databases
Oracle, PostgreSQL and SQL Server: complex queries, views and stored procedures, performance tuning, migrations, backup and recovery. I have worked with Oracle since the very beginning of my career.
Infrastructure, networks and security
Windows and Linux servers, virtualization, firewall and VPN, containers, cloud and disaster recovery planning. Standardization and documentation are part of the job: an operation must never depend on a single person.
Software development
Java and Spring on the server, TypeScript and Angular on the screen, PostgreSQL underneath, REST APIs in between. A particular interest in software that solves a real operational problem.
Data and decision-making
Modeling, indicators and dashboards in Power BI. The harder work is not the dashboard: it is defining the right number and making sure it is the same number across the whole company.
Orchestrating AI agents
I use AI agents in real work, every day: agent-assisted development, autonomous agents in operation — supporting the team over WhatsApp, monitoring, data extraction — and content publishing. It is production routine, with logs and review.

I am responsible for the IT of a network with several branches and dozens of users: the Protheus ERP on Oracle, servers, network, backup and security, support and training for the team, customizations and reports, integrations and vendor selection, upgrades and migrations. Much of the road was about bringing in house what used to depend on third parties — fewer external ties, more control over the processes and over our own data.
That is twenty years at the same company, and it is the work I devote most of my time to. A critical environment: several branches and dozens of users depend on the ERP, the database and the network being up every single day — when something there goes down, the operation goes down with it.
Hence a routine of continuous presence: planned maintenance, backup and recovery in order, controlled access, a team trained to keep working, and decisions made with business continuity in mind first.
The chapters of this company
- I was hired for the Cobol: each company in the group ran a different system, and I unified them all into a single system on a single Sun server running Solaris — then evolved it for years
- When the electronic invoice arrived, I decided it was time to leave Cobol behind: the group adopted Protheus, an ERP designed for car dealerships and larger than the operation needed; I simplified and customized it in ADVPL until it fit the business
- Ever since, continuous stewardship: Oracle, server and Protheus version migrations, without stopping the operation
- A lean team throughout: three or four people at its largest, today a pair — me on the systems and a long-time partner in the field, on the machines and on local user support
My own product
Creator and developer FastBar
A management system for bars, restaurants and service operations. It was born out of a need of my own — the cultural venue I help run — and today it operates that business end to end, from the order at the table to the tax receipt, in production. Java and Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Angular, Docker.
Live today
- Orders, tabs and tables, cash management by shift, inventory, purchasing and internal consumption
- Electronic consumer invoices issued in production, integrated with the state tax authority
- Payroll paid by instant transfer (PIX), straight through the bank API
- An AI agent on WhatsApp: it assists the team, runs operational commands and reads payment receipts with computer vision
- Automatic bank reconciliation and integration with the card acquirer
- A CRM with a loyalty program, preparation kanban for the kitchen and the bar, staff scheduling and attendance
- Multi-company with isolation in the database itself (row-level security) and two verticals in the same product: bars and auto parts, the latter issuing model 55 electronic invoices
Culture and food
Co-founder and manager Tropicália Mutante
A cultural venue in the historic center of João Pessoa, where food, music and street life happen in the same place. I take care of financial and operational management, processes and internal systems, pricing and performance analysis, and the cultural program together with the artists. It is also where FastBar is tested: product decisions are born out of the real operation of this venue.

From the warehouse to IT Auto Anhanguera — auto parts
My first formally registered job, at fourteen, at the company that later became Bom Preço Auto Peças. I joined as a stock clerk, became head of the warehouse and then moved to finance, in accounts receivable, before going to IT, where I programmed in Cobol (2000–2003). Four years of operations before technology: the part on the shelf, the customer's bill and the entry in the system, all seen from the inside.
The move to IT came through Marcelo, the company IT manager: he is the one who taught me to program in Cobol. The best technology manager I have ever worked for, a great friend ever since and still at the same company today.
I started as a stock clerk at an auto parts store and today I am responsible for the IT of an auto parts distributor: the same industry, seen from the other side of the system.

How I work
The problems that reach me almost never have a clear owner: they cut across departments, come from old processes and have no obvious solution. My method is to investigate before proposing — gather scattered information, understand why the process ended up the way it did, and build within the real constraints of time, team and money.
I value autonomy with responsibility, documentation, security, operational simplicity and clear communication. I prefer the solution the team can run on its own to the elegant one only I understand.
In practice, innovating is almost always about removing steps, organizing information and asking better questions.
Outside work
Philosophy, music, food, photography, urban culture, history, travel and human development. Philosophy interests me as a tool for observing reality, not as an abstract exercise — and that is what I write about on the blog, in Portuguese.
